Galveston/Houston Charities

This month we received a wonderfully written letter from our friend Ms. Martinez, who expressed her gratitude for the wheelchair and walker Mr. Hinojosa delivered. Below is the letter she wrote:

Dear Galveston Houston Charities,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible support and generosity your organization has shown during a time of great need for my dear friend, Carol Craft.

Carol is an 85-year-old woman who has been my friend and confidant for nearly a decade. Over the years, she has become much more than a friend; she is now my adopted and surrogate mother. Carol has always been there for me, offering wisdom, comfort, and unwavering support. When she recently experienced a series of falls, culminating in a particularly frightening incident where she lay on the floor for nearly nine hours after falling in the early hours of the morning, I was heartbroken and determined to find a way to help her maintain her independence and safety.

In my quest to find a walker and wheelchair for Carol, I encountered several dead ends. Friends from church and various ministries were unable to assist. However, I remembered John Hinojosa, whom I had met at Christ the Redeemer, where he was a speaker for the day. I reached out to John, explained the situation, and he responded with a simple yet profoundly impactful, “I got you.” His words brought tears to my eyes, and I was overwhelmed with gratitude for this blessing.

Thanks to your charity’s incredible support, I was able to obtain a walker and wheelchair for Carol. When I delivered these to her, the joy and gratitude on her face were indescribable. The walker has provided her with much-needed stability and independence, allowing her to move around safely and confidently.

I am profoundly grateful for the role Galveston Houston Charities played in this journey. Your generosity has not only improved Carol’s quality of life but has also given me peace of mind knowing that she is safer and more independent. Your dedication to helping those in need through your charity work is truly inspiring and deeply appreciated.

Thank you once again for your kindness, support, and for making such a significant difference in Carol’s life and mine. May your organization continue to thrive and touch the lives of many more in need.
